Terms and conditions of use
Our full terms and conditions are available on request.
Nominet UK domain name terms and conditions
We are obliged to notify all customers for whom we purchase UK domain
names through Nominet that the terms and conditions of Nominet apply
to those domain names, as described on the
Nominet site.
When we register a domain for a customer, be it a UK domain or
otherwise (.com, .info, etc), the domain name will remain the property of
the customer, who, if they choose to do so, may transfer that domain
(and the web or Internet service hosting) to another domain registrar
or hosting company. On request of the customer we can alter the domain
name ownership information as registered with Nominet.
Notification for domain name registration renewal
will by default come to the WEB Centre who will, unless instructed
otherwise before the renewal is due, renew the domain for the customer.
In normal circumstances we will not let a domain name lapse until one year
after the customer fails to pay an invoice for re-registration or
hosting with us.
Invoices
The WEB Centre will usually issue invoices for regular hosting services
for the coming year in July, i.e. annual invoicing is the norm. For special
projects and specific consultancy work, we will generally invoice monthly.
Invoices will be issued by the University of Southampton, which the WEB
Centre legally is part of.
